Chinatown, Chicago. Today I was feeling really uninspired, and honestly, rather bored. I realized that I’m only really interested in this project when I’m learning something new about the areas that I’m photographing. It just felt like too much of a familiar site today. Hopefully I’ll be learning more and growing as this goes on.
Bronzeville, Chicago. My friend DeOtis’ Godmothers home and other surrounding areas. I’m loving this project more and more as the editing goes on.
I decided to finally start using my tumblr as a site where I can blog and write about projects that I’m currently working on, and past ones.
Right now I’m doing a documentary project on the South Side. Last night my friend DeOtis picked me up and drove me around Bronzeville, and we went to his Godmother’s house which is around King Drive and 42nd (?) I think that’s right… I’ve never really explored the South side before and as I was exploring it with my camera I realized that I had a lot of the same feelings as the first time I went to Haiti. I can’t believe areas like that exist in the same city that I live in, and which is even more shocking, is that it’s not too far from the North side.
Pictures will be posted soon!
so, i really miss these Haitian children a lot. when’s the next trip?!?! so ready.

the song that fits my mood today. is it okay to cry? because i seem to be doing that a lot today. i am not ready for the rest of this semester.
in Human Rights class today we watched a movie called Baraka. good documentary without any words, just straight filming.
we had a questionaire that we had to do afterwards, you know like “in which one of these countries would you like to settle?” the boy next to me wrote “I don’t think I’ll ever be satisfied.”
so true.
i’ve always thought about making one of these, and i technically didn’t (credit:ashthompz)
i decided to post all of the photos on here of the ones that i’ve taken. if i steal it, you’ll know it, ya hearrd?
